GALLERIES | WORKING AT SEA | SCIENCE & RESEARCH

Back in 2010, I mostly pivoted from studying fisheries, and moved back into deep-sea research which I absolutely adore. I started my PhD studying the distributions of deep-sea fishes through time and across different seafloor habitats, before moving to Florida in 2016 to work on those delightfully tiny, monstrous fishes that live in the midwater as a post-doc for the DEEPEND research program. I traded up into a faculty job in 2018 and have been continuing that deep-sea work ever since.
Here you'll find a handful of photographs taken on deep-sea research cruises, working in offshore regions at depths anywhere from the surface to the abyssal plains at 4800 m! Most of these photographs currently highlight common sampling tools used to survey the water column or the seafloor, but I plan to add more to over the next few months so stay tuned for more updates! In the meantime, if you want to follow more of my academic projects and see what I'm up to at the moment, you can check out my lab website at www.deepseascape.com
