NZ004: Great Petrel

In Kaikoura I went out on a wildlife-watching boat to see the albatross, petrels and shearwaters that reside in this part of the islands. The boats use bait to attract in the scavenging birds (like these petrels), but those that can't get to the food will often come right up to the boat to investigate the passengers!
