IDA012: Liocarcinus colour morphs - Coastal Species
The harbour crab Liocarcinus depurator is normally a pale orange colour with purple patches on the swimmerets (top images; a & b). In the Clyde Sea area, we have rarely encountered what appears to be an alternative colour morph (lower images; c & d), though we are not sure what causes the difference.
