Dolphins, gannets, skuas, terns and more!
16th June 2010
Very cool week so far up here in the north minch. We're currently on a trawler heading towards the shiant islands south of Lewis and so far it's been a good morning! Loads of auks are around just now as well as a wee colony of arctic terns by the stornoway harbour, there ate common dolphins out in force as well as dozens of gannets although they're tending to stay further north than us at the moment so no chance for more diving shots yet. The great skuas are back though and I've had a pretty good set of photos from them this trip so I'll be getting them up when I get home at the weekend. Here's hoping the weather stays this nice and the animals keep with us!
