Back from an excellent week!

30th March 2010
Well, despite getting all possible types of weather in the one week which prevented us from fishing for the first two days, I finally managed to get out and see a bit more of the Isle of Lewis and explore a bit more of the islands stunning coastline (along with 4 very inquisitive sheep!) in the north around Ness and some of the beautiful sandy beaches which the Hebrides are famous for.

Four rather nosy sheep!

Looking out over Broad Bay as the rain came in.

We managed to get out to sea for the final two days of the trip and for the last morning of the last day, the gannets came out and put on quite a show for us, diving constantly at the fishing gear and in surprisingly good light considering how variable the weather had been for the rest of the trip! So, I finally got a few pictures of diving gannets that I am happy with which is brilliant! It's taken over two years of these boat trips for the light, birds, camera and my own ability to come together to get the shots, so I hope you like them as much as I do!

Finally! A decent shot of a gannet mid-dive!

I'll be posting new images from the trip all week into the galleries and will be posting a short news piece about wildlife in the Minch hopefully by the weekend.
