SBF002: Fulmar in flight - Fulmars
Fulmars (Fulmarus glacialis) are commonly seen following fishing boats to feed on escaped animals and discards. The 'tube' structure on the top of the beak allows them to detect odours from several miles away, and they are often amongst the first birds to arrive at a feeding area.
