Pilot whales

This photo is of group of three short-finned pilot whales, taken while in Tenerife. These animals belong to the group of oceanic dolphins (Delphinidae) and are extremely sociable. They are a predatory species, feeding on fish and squid. They are not native to UK waters but are included for comparison to the long-finned pilot whale.
