USW005: Karlsruhe - Shipwrecks and Divers
The SMS Karlsruhe is another of the 7 German vessels that remain from World War one. She was also a Konigsberg-class light cruiser and is a beautiful and relatively shallow wreck to dive, lying in around 25m of water. These vessels are now vast artificial reefs, and are host to an enormous variety of marine life. When we visited this wreck in April 2009, the most noticeable were the huge schools of juvenile fish, with the occasional guillemot diving amongst them!
