Haddock (bycatch)
A haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinnus) caught in the langoustine trawl as bycatch. Cod, haddock and whiting are caught using very similar gear, but with a large mesh size to allow juveniles to escape. Young fish are therefore vulnerable to overfishing from the Nephrops fishery.
