A catch of haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus; bottom) and hake (Merluccius merluccius; top) from a trawler in the Clyde Sea Area. Hake have been an historically important species in this region. Typically a deep water fish, it can be caught in relatively shallow waters here, but is now overfished.
