Dead Men's Fingers
Dead men's fingers cover the outer surfaces of the 'Endeavour' (Northern Isles, Orkney). These are soft corals, which feed by filtering food particles out of the water currents flowing over them, and are found anywhere with enough (but not too much!) tidal movement. They can retract their polyps if they are disturbed, and open them to feed.
