Ok, after an incredibly hectic September getting the university dive club going for the next year and starting a PhD, I think things are finally starting to get settle down and get back to normal and I will be getting back to the regular update schedule this coming week.

Back home again after a lengthy and fairly exhausting trip around Scotland. Photos will be going up this week starting today.

I'm off tomorrow for a field trip around Scotland to do some work on creeling vessels for the next ten days, followed immediately by a weekend's diving in the sealochs around Oban. I'm hoping to have some nice photos ready by the time I get back (once I've caught up on all the sleep I'm going to miss!). In the meantime, I'll keep the twitter feed as updated as I can while I'm away (service depending) so keep an eye on that to follow what we're up to.

Had a really nice trip out to the Farne Islands last weekend to get some diving done and take a few photos, which I'll get up online in the next day or two as I get them processed.

Back from a very cool trip up to the Isle of Mull, with some big groups of basking sharks and some stunning behaviours!

Had a really good trip out in the Firth of Lorne yesterday, although choppy seas meant we didn't get any cetacean sightings. There were plenty of seabirds though and the sea eagles didn't disappoint!

Off to the Firth of Lorne for a whale watching trip tomorrow, I can't wait! Hoping to see white-tailed sea eagles and Minke whales in particular, but the area is brilliant for all kinds of wildlife so it should be a cool day out!

I will keep you updated on what we find.

It has come to my attention that some of the options to buy prints and canvasses were not being displayed properly in all of the galleries. This has been fixed, and all sales options are now present and correct! Apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused.

More images from Stornoway are now online, and the print prices and layout have been rejigged so will hopefully now be clearer and easier to use.

New gannet photos are now up in the gallery and can be seen here.

It's been a great summer for wildlife so far, and there is lots more planned, starting with a trip up to the Hebrides next week!

Since I'm getting married in 2 days and heading off to California for 3 weeks, there will be a short break in the updates to the website. I'll be back on the 29th May though, hopefully with some new photographs to share, and I am going to try and keep the twitter \ facebook pages updated while we're away (though it'll depend on the mobile service over there).

We had a cracking weekend away diving around Oban last weekend, and the first images from the trip are now up in the Underwater gallery. I'll be uploading the trip images daily, so keep checking back for updates.

It's been an interesting week in Stornoway with all four seasons of weather descending on Lewis for the few days we were up, but it turned out to be a pretty successful week with lots of new seabird photos and gannets, which stole the show!

I am finally getting the new camera (Canon 7d) out for a proper field test this weekend! I can't wait!

Lundy has just been designated a Marine Conservation Zone. The BBC have the story in pictures.
